Four creative ways to get your brand seen

Your personal brand is a representation of your value in the marketplace. The more valuable your brand, the more opportunities there will be for your career. However, developing a brand that proves your value to the market means nothing if it has limited exposure. It is equally ineffective if you are utilizing the same channels and resources as your competitors do. In order to stand out in today’s oversaturated market, you need to get creative when it comes to growing your brand awareness. Below are a few clever ways to get more exposure.

Memes

Those quirky images, usually accompanied by a hilarious chunk of text, that pop up on your news feed from time to time — yes, those. Unless you have limited internet access, you have more than likely come across them. They are wildly popular on social media and have been known to bring attention to some of the more relevant pop culture disputes. Memes are a great way to bring awareness to your brand, because people like to laugh. Plus, they are simple and shareable, meaning more interaction with your content. Consider sharing or even creating your own memes that are relevant to your brand.

Interactive content

Content that engages your audience is a proven way to bring attention to, and provide useful information about, you and your brand. Host contests on your brand’s social media accounts, offering discounted products or services in exchange for participation. Create polls encouraging your audience to choose between their favorite or most useful products and/or services that you provide. This will give you insight into your customers and provide real-life testimonials for potential customers. Think of creative ways to engage your audience.

QR codes, mobile marketing

In 2012, I was introduced to the concept of mobile marketing. The idea of having a database of customers that you can send messages to at any time seemed like a marketing dream. Prompt your customers to scan a QR code for exclusive offers and build your database. People love a bargain, especially if it’s a product or service they need. Potential customers can subscribe for exclusive offers, which can be an effective way to expand your brand’s awareness.

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great positive way to provide for others while increasing your brand awareness. Sacrificing your time for others will always reflect positively on your brand because it shows that you care about the bigger picture. Everybody wants something to stand behind, and people will support you because of your support for the cause. Volunteering within your community is a great way to boost awareness to those closest to you, geographically speaking. The more people who know about your brand, the greater your chances for an opportunity.

Above are only a few of many creative methods that can get your personal brand some of the much-needed exposure you want. However, do not limit yourself. Study your competitors to see how they get exposure, and innovate. Examine your own talents and abilities for answers; your passions could steer you toward the appropriate method for you.
