One simple, healthy way to lose weight

People are often miserable when it comes to losing weight, but what if I told you it could be fun? I have been on my weight loss journey for a year and a half, and I just reached my 120-pound weight loss goal. Some of the diets online can be deceiving, guaranteeing results in a month – or in some cases, a week – but these are often unhealthy. If you are trying to loose weight, I do not recommend going on an extreme diet to starve yourself in order to get immediate results. In order to shed the pounds and keep them off, you need to follow the steps below.

Establish a new schedule

In order to start on your permanent weight loss journey, you need to establish a new schedule. By getting organized, you can keep track of the times you are free to do a mini-workout or get up and walk. This is a great way to keep track of your daily activity and water intake, and it gives you a chance to observe your patterns.

Keep track of fluids and food

Most doctors recommend you drink at least a gallon of fluids a day. Not only does it replenish your body with fresh fluids, but it also has many ther advantages. Some of the advantages that are most obvious are increased energy, clearer skin, a better attitude and higher cognitive function. By replenishing your fluids, you wash all the toxins out of your system.

One trick to increasing fluids is to mark a large water bottle with lines and times at which you are supposed to drink the fluids. How much fluid you wish to drink depends on the labeling of the bottle.

When you drink two to three glasses of water before a meal, your brain thinks you are more full than you actually are. By tricking your brain into thinking you are full, you can eat less while feeling the same effect.

One thing to note when eating is that you should be eating nutrient-rich food. Not only will this give you more vitamins and minerals to help you fight infections, but it will also make it easier on your body to get rid of unnecessary fats. Your body will let go of the bad fats and start relying on healthy fats to sustain your energy.

Get up and move

Increasing your physical activity by a little bit each day helps burn more calories. When you burn more calories than you consume, you begin burning fat that is stored for later. That is a great reason not to eat a lot before you go to the gym. You can burn 10 calories at least by going up the stairs instead of taking the elevator. At least 60 minutes of physical activity is recommended per day.

These are a few ways you can lose weight – and keep it off. These are not very demanding changes to your everyday lifestyle, but they can help you develop and maintain the healthy body that you are striving for.
